DANUBE FREEZING.

SUPPLY TO GERMANY AFFECTED.

PROBABLY CLOSED TILL MARCH.

BELGRADE, December 16

Because of the presence of ice in the Danube, the Yugoslav authorities have suspended from to-day all navigation on the Danube, and all Yugoslav Danubian steamers are tying up for the winter.

■Large blocks of ice are already making navigation very difficult, and other Danubian countries are expected to follow suit in the next few days, because the increasing cold will undoubtedly freeze the Danube in many parts.

Thus the main route for the supply of Rumanian petrol and other commodities to Germany will probably be closed until the. beginning of March.
