FRUIT AND PRODUCE.

THE ASHBURTON MARKET. Prices at the fruit and produce market at Ashburton on Friday were as follow: Cabbages—3d and 4d. Chaff—6s 6d to 7s 6d a sack. .Potatoes—ls 9d sugar-bag, 4s sack. Wheat—lßs, 20s to 22s a sack. Honey—9d to Is lb. Onions—4d per lb. Apples—Delicious 12s, Sturmers 8s tp 10s, cookers 7s 6d. Lettuce—2d and 3d each. Shallots—3d lb. Cauliflowers—4d to 9d each. Rhubarb—4d to 6d a bundle. Cherries—6d to 9d per lb. Green Peas—2d to 2s 6d per peck. New Potatoes—3d per lb. Tomatoes— Is 9d to 2s per lb. and 4d per lb. Broad Beans—3d per lb. Strawberries —Jam Is to Is 3d lb; dessert Is Gd and Is 9d per lb.

THE CHRISTCHURCH MARKETS.

CHRISTCHURCH, This Day. The dull season for grain and produce trading has now just about reached its peak, and there is little interest in any section. There lias been some wholesale inquiry for cowgrrtss and cocksfoot, of which some is going to Australia, but stocks of both lines are getting low. The best has been picked out of stocks, though there is still plenty of cowgrass. Cocksfoot is less plentiful, and reports from both Ashburton and the Peninsula indicate that the season is not likely to be a heavy one.

Wheat—Milling, f.o.b. Tuscan, 5s lid, Hunters 6s Id, Pearl 6s 3d, Marquis 6s sd. (Final payment of 3d a bushel on all wheat at the end of the year). Oats—A Gartons 3s 9d to 4s, B’s 3s 3d to 6d; Algerians 3s 6d to 3s 9d; Duns 4s to 4s 6d, according to sample.' . Ryegrass—Perenpial and Italian 6s to 7s, according to sample. Cocksfoot—9d (nominal). White clover—2s to 2s sd. Red Clover—ls. Partridge Peas—6s 9d to 7s.

Chaff—£4 15s (nominal). Barley—Malting, ex stack, 4s 10£d, e* stook 4s 7£d; Cape, 4s to 4s 6d; black, 6s to 6s 3d. Onions—£l6, sacks extra. Linseed—f.a.q., £2l.

EIFFELTON PROPERTY,OFFERED.

A properly consisting of an, acre of land and a four-roomed dwelling at Eiffelton was passed in at £175 when offered at auction yesterday by Mr Reg. Stephenson, on account of the public trustee in the estate of the late Mr William Strange.
