Replying to questions about the steps being taken in the public Service to enrol public servants in the Home Guard the Public Service Commissioner (Mjr T. Mark) said 1 : “Every permanent head; and controlling officer has been asked to act as a; recruiting agent. It is an organised campaign on my part as titular head of the servicei to get many as of the staff as possible into the defence organisation. No compulsion is being used.”
