ST. JAMES THEATRE.
“THE LIGHT THAT FAILED.” Another magnificent performance is given by Ronald Column rvho has the leading role in “The Light That Failed” showing to-night and finally on Monday. This well known adventure and dramatic romance from the pen of Rudyard Kipling is an ideal, vehicle for Ronald Column's outstanding talent. “The Light That Failed” tells of Dick Heldar, gay adventurer, lover and dreamer who starts out as a soldier fighting the Fiizzy-Wnzzies in British Sudan. A wound over an eye causes him to go to Etngland where lie gains fame as an artist. Ho sets out to paint a London guttersnipe and his model is Bessie, a simple girl who thinks that Heldar is trying to break up her happiness. The tangled skeins of romance formv thick as the picture reaches its climax, as the old wound begins to cut off the artist’s sight. The film ends on a sad note which does not detract from the intensely passages which lead up ‘to it. Marvellously acted, this intriguing story has everything to commend it. HARMONICA BAND DANCE.
