LODGE MEETING.

THE ASHBURTON RECHABITES.

The quarterly meeting of the Ashburton Tent of the Independent Order of Rechabites was held in the Baring Square Sunday School this week. There was a fair attendance of members and C.R. (Bro. E. Hight) presided. , As a mark of respect to the late Airs AV. A. AlcNicol members stood in silence.

The district secretary advised that dues of soldier members would he paid by the lodge from the time they left the Dominion.

The auditor’s report arid quarterly balance sheet was adopted. It was decided to purchase Christmas presents for the juvenile members. Sick pay amounting to £9 was passed in favour of two members.

The next meeting is to be held on January 27. After the meeting Bro. E. Hight gave an interesting address on the ‘‘Life and Work of the Honey Bee,” illustrated with charts and samples. On the motion of the secretary (Bro. E. A\ r est) the speaker was thanked.

DAPHNE REBEKAH 1.0.0. F. The fortnightly meeting of the Daphne Rebekah 1.0.0. F. was hold on A\ r ednesday evening, the N.G. (Sister I. Baker) presiding - over a fair attendance. ; u Two sisters were reported sick and pay was passed in their favour.
