ITALIANS HARRIED.
MUCH MATERIAL ABANDONED.
IN A CRITICAL POSITION.
(United Press Association—Copyright.) (Received This Day,. 1.5 p.m.) LONDON, November 27.
Harried by the Xlreek Army and the British and Greek air forces the Italians to-day continued to retreat on the northern and' central sectors, but apparently reinforcement in the southern sector stiffened the resistance against the' repeated Greek attacks aiming at the encirclement of Argyrokastron, the. Italian evacuation of which was prematurely reported. While the pursuit is most rapid the quantity of abandoned material is greatest in the northern, sector. It is the front from Argyrokastron to the sea which is at present attracting most interest. According to the Athens 1 correspondent of the “Daily Telegraph” Greek forces clearly are very near Argyrokastron, the aerodrome at which has been put out of action. This is the last of Italy’s advanced air bases in Albania. Thus the strategical position of Argyrokastron is critical for the Italians in view of any probable attempt to reestablish their, front.
