WOMEN’S INSTITUTE.

THE METHVEN MEETING. Owing to adverse weather, the annual garden party of the Methven Women’s Institute had to be abandoned and the function took place in the Anglican Hall, Mrs E. S. Vaughan presiding. It was decided to devote the proceeds of the sale of mystery parcels to the Health Camp for children, to be held at Methven. There was a. good sale for goods from the disabled soldiers. Invitations to Lyndhurst and Highbank garden parties were accepted. The annual excursion to Christchurch was arranged for December 6. The winners of the treasure hunt were Mesdames E. A. and E. J. Bland, D. Watson, A. Watson and Stone. The travelling parcel was won by Mrs L. Vaughan.

Other competitions Avere Avon by Mesdames J. Temple, -Stewart, and Vaughan, and Miss B. Currie.
