GRANTS REFUSED.
FROM THE PATRIOTIC FUNDS FURNISHINGS AND CLUBROOM. (Per Press Association). WELLINGTON, This'Day. The Wellington Provincial Patriotic Council to-day rejected an application by the Upper Hutt R.S.A. for a pound for pound subsidy for a clubroom to be used for entertaining soldiers from Trentham, on the ground that calls on the funds overseas, and lor patriotic purposes were too great and urgent to permit this. A similar refpsal met the request lor a grant for furniture for a clubroom at Bulls that is visited by Air Force men from Ohakea./
