MINOR ASSOCIATION MATGH. ASHBURTON SCORE SLOWLY. The Ashburton senior cricket representatives met South Canterbury today on the Domain Oval in a match in the Minor, Association’s Trophy competition. Conditions were perfect for cricket and the hicket although slightly damp on top was fairly easy, Edward and' Harold Jordan opened Brightly, puttingon 24 before the first wicket fell. From that time the Timaru bowling attack subdued the local batsmen, whose scoring rate was fairly slow. H. E. Cook and A. W. Saunders were associated in a valuable knock which took the score from 35 to over 70. Ashburton had scored 80 runs fox; the loss of eight wickets at the luncheon adjournment.
