GLORIOUS SUNSHINE TO-DAY. ’ I , . I Ashburton was favoured with glorious weather for the King’s Birthday holiday to-day. The sky was cloudless and the sun shone down strongly. A light, cool breeze prevailed. The weather yesterday was dull and cool. The barometer and thermometer readings yesterday and to-day are not available.
As a result of the rain on Friday night- sports grounds were too wet for play on Saturday. ‘
TO-DAY’S FORECAST.

The Government Meteorologist, at noon to-day, issued the following statement regarding the weather:— An qnti-cyclone lies centrally over the Dominion, while a depression! is almost stationary over the Tasman Sea.
The forecast for the east coast of the South Island from Blenheim to Oamaru is as follows:
Light to moderate winds, chiefly from a northerly quay ter. Weather fair to fine. Cool night and mild day temperatures. Sjeas slight.
