'Mr Dies, after questioning further witnesses before the Committee of which he is chairman, stated at Chicago: “The Bcrlin-Rome intelligence service hasi a huge network plotting to obtain economic influence’in its princiffel industries. It aims to raise all the money possible for the use of belligerents and to inspire the United States toward appeasement.” He added that an official representative of a for-? eign government headed the system.
