ALLENTON SCHOOL.

MEETING OF THE COMMITTEE. The Allenton School Committee, at its monthly meeting, passed the following resolution in connection with police visits to the school: “That in the event of the police visiting a child at the school the headmaster get in touch with the parent prior to the police interviewing the child.”

• The chairman (Mr E. C. Bathurst) presided, and there were present Messrs G. Knox, A. R. Argyle, B. J. Evans, J. H. Stevens, J. Gowans, R. Turnbull and G. H. Rollinson.

The new headmaster (Mr J. Southward) was welcomed. It was decided to send a letter of thanks to the Curator of the Domain (Mr D. H. Leigh) for the interest he took in Forms I and II when they visited the Domain. Messrs Stevens and Robinson were appointed to the visiting committee fo next month.
