WAIPIATA PATIENTS.
MEETING OF TH El COMMITTEE. The monthly meeting of the AVaipiata Sanatorium Committee was field at Dunedin last week. The chairman (Mill). MacDonald) presided and Mr AV. Bryant represented the Ashburton Hospital Board. The Medical Superintendent (Dr. A. Kidd) reported that 18 patients had been admitted during September. 10 were discharged, two had died and 135 remained at the end of the month, the majority of whom were doing well or improving. He recommended as suitable for admission to the .Sanatorium seven patients from Southland and one from South Canterbury.
The Secretary reported that at date the Associated Boards had patients in the Institution as follows:—Southland 07, .South Canterbury 21, Ashburton 14, AVaitalti 13, South Otago 12, Vincent four and Maniototo three-—a total of 131. Since the previous meeting 10 patients from three hospital districts had been discharged. He submitted a waiting list of 13 patients from two districts.
The treasurer submitted statements of receipts and payments showing that at September 30 there was a credit balance of £224 5s sd. He also submitted statements of receipts and payments for the half-year which showed the actual maintenance receipts to be £237 11s 3d less than the estimate and the actual maintenance payments £S2O 2s lid above the estimate. It was decided to hold the next meeting at Dunedin on November 28.
