NATIONAL PARTY.
CHANGE IN LEADER PENDSNiG. (Per Press Association). WELLTNJGTON, November 6. A report from Palmerston North that the question of a change in the leadership of the National Party is being discussed with the possibility of Mr S. G. Holland (Christchurch North) becoming Leader -of the Opposition, was 1 referred to the Hon. Adam Hamilton to-day. Air Hamilton declined to comment beyond stating that the question is to be discussed at a meeting of the Parliamentary members of tbo party to be called before tlie reopening of the session on November 26. This development is not unexpected, as it has been understood that Air Hamilton is not anxious to hold tlie position if a suitable alternative leader is approved by the party. Though previous caucus discussions have ended on a unanimous resolution of confidence in Air Hamilton, it is considered that any change oi leadership will not affect Air Hamilton’s position in the AVar Cabinet, which involves important responsibility requiring daily attention.
