WORKER LOSES A HAND

INJURED BY AN EXPLOSION. (Per Press Association). HOKITIKA, This Day. Mr Leslie Flintoff, a single man, aged 26, engaged on the Public Works near Paringa Lake, South Westland, had his right hand blown off and both legs injured above the knees by an explosion when he wasi preparing a charge. The journey to the Westland Hospital was covered in 16 hours. He is now suffering from shock but his condition is fair.
