METHVEN PUPILS’ EVENTS.

AN OUTSTANDING PERFORMANCE

The annual sports of the Methven District High School were held in fine weather. There was a good attendance of parents and friends. Some excellent events were witnessed.

An outstanding performance was that of Barry, Manning, who won the boys’ junior championship, for out of nine events he was first in eight. In throwing the cricket-hall, lan Wilson recorded 281 ft 11 in—easily a record for the scliopl. The programme was well organised, and the staff, under 'the direction of the headmaster (Mr A. S.
