LATE COMMERCIAL
ASHBURTON STOCK MARKET. . A DOUBLE SALE TO-DAY. VALUES PAR WITH LAST WEEK. Owing to the Christchurch Show- being held next week, there was a double stock market at the Ashburton saleyards to-day. There was a large entry of fat sheep and a good attendance of farmers. During the morning values generally were on a par with those of last week. The market was firm. At mid-day both fat ewes and wethers had brought up to 34s Id. The best lambs offered had sold at 24s lOd. The main sales in the morning were:
Fat ewes—On account of G ; Letham (Lauriston), 6 at 24s lOd; Kennedy s Estate (Greenstreet), 5 at 17s lOd; Shearer’s Estate (Greenstreet), 7 at 27s lOd, S at 25s lOd, 2 at 23s id; A. Cattle—‘Oil account of clients, fat cows at £ll2 17s 6d, £8 2s 6d, £7 17s 6d, £4, £l4, fat steer at £10,.3 vealers at 28s 6d.
