SUPPLY SHIP BOMBED.

DIRECT HIT AMIDSHIPS. (.Received This Day, 11.20 a.m.) LONDON, November 1. Hudsons of the Coastal Command beat a German camouflage during the reconnaissance of enemy waters off Southern Norway when they bombed a 3000-ton supply ship, heavily laden with cargo. After a direct hit amidships on the 'Camouflaged vessel, white smoke appeared and part of the cargo was seen in the water. The reconnaissance was strongly resisted by the ground defences and fighter aircraft. One of the. Hudsons which went to attack the ship is missing, but the rest completed their task successfully.—British Official Wireless.

Details of the Royal Air Force attacks last night on the invasion ports and German territory show that many tons of high-explosive and incendiary bombs were dropped on the Germanoccnpied jiorts of Flushing and Antwerp and on Emden. The attack on Flushing began early in the evening and lasted for just over an hour. Several sticks of bombs were dropped on the "Walchern Canal and on the inner and outer harbours, though cloud haze made it difficult to see the full results of the bombing. The Air Ministry bulletin containing this information also states that at Emden bursts were observed on the quay of the main waterway and east of the main entrance. One very bright fire was started and other fires in the area were seen to, spread rapidly. One aircraft attacked a nearby railway junction, and here again a large fire occurred. GERMANS !N RUMANIA.

HEAVY EQUIPMENT MOVED. LONDON, November 1. Movements of German troops and heavy equipment are reported from Rumania. It is stated that large numbers of German soldiers and mechanised equipment have been transported through the Banat and have moved to positions on the southern frontier.
