A CURTAILMENT.
THE LADY GALWAY GUILD.
ACTIVITIES IN THE FUTURE. In view of the busy time which, many people will have as a result of the big patriotic appeal shortly to bn launched, the Ashburton Lady Galway Guild decided at a- meeting yesterday afternoon to curtail activities to some extent during the next few months. It was agreed, however, that the room in the Bo|rough Council Chambers should be open on Tuesday and Friday afternoons for people to leavet parcels of goods, or to collect material requiring repairing or other attention. Sincn the Guild was established several months ago numbers of women have been busily engaged sorting, mending, washing and packing clothing, and some idea of the work done may be gained from the fact that 26 large cases of clothing have already been dispatched, and 12 more age rcuvdy for sending away at the beginning of next week. These 38 cases have practically disposed of all the heavy material which was collected in the drive carried out by. Ashburton postal officials
