ENTERTAINMENTS.

ST. JAMES THEATRE. It is a truism that sequels written to order seldom have the vitality of the work they follow. But the “'Jhin Man” series continues to be vastly entertaining, the latest one currently at the St. James has been entitled “Another Thin Man.” Those who feared that the introduction of Nick,. Jr., to the, Charles household would slow up the action of “Another Thin Man,” need not have worried. Asta, the dog, is bringing up the baby. “Another Thin Man”—the title is in honour of the one-year-old addition to the family—once more, presents "William Powell and M.yrna Loy as Nick and Nora Charley in a comedy-mystery, like the earlier ones, by Dashiell Hammett, and made by M-G-M. William Powell and Myrna Loy are superb in their roles. The Charles’s amusing dog, Asta, is once more in evidence, and the human supporting cast includes that dependable veteran, C. Aubrey Smith, as a peppery old man. Hunt Stromberg has produced the film, and W. S. Van Dyke 11., as director, has given point to the many happy touches of nonsense in it. Included in the strong supporting programme is a Pete Smith specialty “What’s Your I.Q.P” Dust off the dunce cap, hear Professor Pete with a question bee for those who think they know all the answers, you’ll vote both it and the whole programme — famous entertainment.

“The Thin Man” season has been extended until Wednesday and a matinee wil be given at 2 p.m. to-morrow, Tuesday.
