NEW SOCIETY.

ORCHESTRAL ORGANISATION FORMED AT METHVEN. A meeting was held in the Anglican Hall, Methyen. on Monday evening for the purpose of forming 'am Orchestral Society. Mr K. Cook presided and there wrfs a good attendance. Good support was forthcoming and it was agreed to proceed with tho formation of the Society, whose object would he to assist at all patriotic functions. Officers were appointed as follow: — Hon secretary, Mrs R. M. McKendrv \ conductor, Mr L. Reid; cicmmittee, Messrs Knox Cook (chairman), A. Grigg, D. Petrie, Misses J. Kilworth and A. Farquhar. Practices are to commence at oneo and the orchestra will commence with 20 members.
