SOLDIER WHO CONVERTED CAR.

(Per Press Association!. WELLINGTON, .September 30. Three months’ imprisonment with hard labour was the penally imposed by Mr J. I/. Stout, S.M., on a soldier Robavt, Harold Russell, aged 19, for the unlawfu leonversioin cl a car. The police said that the- accused missed the last train to Trontham on Saturday nnight and took the ear from the Hotel Waterloo. The owner of the car claimed that three gallons of petrol had been used and the car had travelled at least 10 miles. The car was damaged to the extent of approximately £25. Mr Stout said the accused, was before the Court in Christchurch a whole ago for a similar offence and had had a. warning,
