BUSINESS IN THE COMMONS. DURING AIR-RAID ALARM. f (Received This Day, 11.55 am..) LONDON, September 17. An air-raid warning which sounded soon after the House of Commons session began was in operation while Mr Churchill was speaking. Apart from 15 minutes’ .suspension of business owing to the reported imminence of raiders, the sitting continued without interruption throughout the warning period, which lasted about. 90 minutes.
During the early session Air Chamberlain took his seat on a Treasury Bench for the first time , since his illness, amidst the cheers of all parts of the House.
