EFFICIENCY TESTS.

BAY OF PLENTY RESOLUTION. (Per Press Association). ROTORUA, August 6. At a meeting of the Bay of Plenty section of the Public Service _ Association, the Public Service Commissioner’s report on the efficiency tests was discussed, and it was resolved that the following resolution be forwai’ded to the Public Service Association at Wellington: “The Bay of Plenty section of the Public Service Association confirms its support of the executive committee in its opposition to efficiency tests in their present form, and considers that the Public Service Commissioner is not correctly informed when he states that the service generally does not support the Public Seryice Association in the attitude it has taken up. Wo ask whether it is fair to the service to infer that the attitude ol the 134 officers who submitted themselves for examination reflects the feelings of the more than 10,000 officers under his control.

“We also feel justified in entering a vigorous, protest against the manner in which the Public Service Commissioner has seen fit to describe those officers of the Public Service who have in the past opposed the whole question of efficiency tests in their present form.”
