TRAFFIC STOPPED
BETWEEN TWO FRENCH AREAS.
REFUGEES FORBIDDEN TO MOVE.

The British United Press correspondent at Vichy says that the Germans have closed road as well as rail traffic between occupied and unoccupied France.- Some quarters consider this step indicates that operations against Britain from Northern France are imminent.
An official French communique states: “The-' return of refugees to the occupied zones land the transfer of Government services to Paris has been provisionally stopped.” The French radio announced that German-occupied France has been split up into five zones, refugees ibeing forbidden to enter or leave two of the most strategically-impod’tant areas. One embraces the Channel ports and the hinterlaind. The other takes in thei Maginot Line from Switzerland to Bel - gium. Special permission to travel must he obtained in other zones and can be granted only to farmers, doctors, nurses and officials. It is learned that trains are being held up at Moulins, preventing refugees, including 1000 bank workers, from reaching Paris.
