NEW CHAIRMAN.
WAR PENSIONS APPEAL BOARD. (Per Press Association). WELLINGTON, July 26. The Hon. Sir Walter 'Stringer, who has held the position of chairman of the War Pensions Appeal Board since March 28, 1027, lias tendered his resignation, and this lias been accepted by the Government as from July 31. Tina Hoii. F. Jones said to-night that Sir Walter, during the years of bis association with the Board, bad rendered excellent service and the returned soldiers of New Zealand fully appreciated the way be looked after their interests. Mr Jones announced that Sir Francis Frazer bad been appointed successor to Sir Walter Stringer on the Board, and would assume the duties of chairman from August 1.
