Prices at the fruit and produce market at Ashburton on Friday were as follow:

Cabbages—4d to 9d. Chaff—6s 6d to 7s 6d a sack. Potatoes —2s 6d and 3s a sugar-hag. or 8s a sack. Wheat—lßs, 20s to 22s a sack. Honey—Bd and 9d a lb. Onions—New season’s ljd and 2d lb, 5s 6d to 6s a sugar-bag, Apples—Delicious 7s to Bs, Stunners 6s 6d to Bs, cookers 7s 6d. Lettuce—2d and 3d each. Marrows —4d to Is. Pumpkins—l jd a lb. Marrows —4d and 6d each. Shallots—3d lb. Winter Pears—2§d and lb. Cauliflowers—4d, 6d, and 8d each. Carrots—2s 6d sugar-bag. Brussel Sprouts—4d lb.

CHRISTCHURCH MARKETS CHRISTCHURCH, This Day. Grain and produce markets are stilt not very active and prices have shown little change over the week. Pending the Government’s reply to the representations made to it for a minimum price, the potato market remains very quiet with, few transactions, taking place. The following 'are quotations to farmers on trucks at country sidings, unless otherwise indicated:

Wheat—Milling, f.0.b., Tuscan 5s 10d, Hunters Gs, Pearl 6s 2d, Marquis 6s 3d. (Final payment of 3d a. bushel on all wheat at the end of the year.) Oats—A Gartons 3s 9d to 4s, B’s

3s 3d to 3s 6d; Algerians 3s 6d to 3s 9d; Duns 4s to 4s 6d, according to sample. Ryegrass—Perennial and Italian 6s to 7s, according to sample. Cocksfoot—9d (nominal). White Clover—2s to 2s sd. Red Clover—ls to Is 4d. Partridge Peas—6s 9d to 7s. Chaff—£6. Barley—Malting, ex stack, 4s 10£d, e> stook 4s 7£d; Cape, 4s to 4s 6d; black, 6s to 6s 3d. Potatoes—£2. Onions—£7. Linseed—f.a.q. £25. PROPERTY PASSED AT AUCTION. A property of 1 rood and 33 perches, and a house, in Hugh Street, Ashburton, were passed in at auction when they were offered at auction by Mr R.
