NO ZONING YET.

• -«»■“ GROCERY AND COAL TRADES. THE POSITION IN ASHBURTON. No action has yet been baleen to zone either the grocery or coal trades in Ashburton. The grocers, according tc one> representative, are generally not in favour of zoning and have come to an arrangement whereby the smallest possible amount of fuel will be used. No definite arrangement has teen made in connection with the coal trade but a prominent, coal merchant said this morning that lccal merchants had practically zoned themselves and with the price of petrol so high it was not likely they w-'ould use more than was absolutely necessary. Then, again, it was only in the winter time that the trade was very busy.
