“KEEP SMILING.”
DOG DAY AT STUDIO. Seventy-five dogs and their owners had their day at Pinewood Studios when they were called lor scenes in the new Graeie Fields film “Keep Smiling.” In the story a famous pianist, played by Peter Coke, oflers ClOfi 1 reward for the return' of his lost dog. The substantial reward attracts a horde of hopefuls, bringing anything from a dachshund to a great Dane. Monty Banks, the director, enjoyed himself enormously with his “crowd scene,” directed bull-mastiffs, Pokes and Poms, Sheep Dogs, Scotties, Dalmatians—and many dogs of darkly mysterious parentage. “Keep Smiling” is the second film Grade Fields has made under her contract with 20th Century, and there is a grand cast including Mary (Maguire, ■Roger Livesey, Peter Coke, Jack Donohue and the most famous of all dog stars “Slrippy” in support.
