Tho Minister for Aircraft Construction (Baron Beaver brook), broadcasting disclosed that Mr Morgenthau (Secretary to tho United States Treasury) informed the Canadian Minister for. Aircraft that the United States Avas immediately entering on the production of an ultimate maximum of 3000 planes monthly lor Britain. This Avas additional to the present American programme lor Britain. Referring to the 12,115 American aeroplane engines purchased since the formation of the Ministry for Aircraft Production, Lord Beavorbrook said that these engines Avere a- powerful modern type, tested in many long journeys across the American continent.
