THE WEATHER.
SUNNY BUT CHILLY ATMOPSHERE Although bright sunny weather was experienced in Ashburton to-day the atmosphere was chilly as a result of a fresh north-west breeze and a frost of 12 degrees during, the night. The maximum and minimum temperatures yesterday were 52.2 and 25.8 degrees, being slightly lower than the readings on Tuesday. The barometer had fallen to 29.97 inches at 9 a.m. to-day after having risen to 30.3 yesterday.
TO-DAY’S FORECAST. (Per Press Association). WELLINGTON, This Day. The Government Meteorologist, at noon to-day, issued the following statement regarding the weather : A cyclonic disturbance is located just north of Cape Maria Van Dieman. Pressure is high to the south-east. The forecast for the oast coast of the South Island from Blenheim to Oamaru is as follows: Light, to fresh northerly tc> northeasterly winds : weather fair and rather cold; sc-as slight to moderate.
