YOUNG FARMERS CLUB.
CENTENNIAL TREES AT HINDS. The monthly meeting of the Hinds Young Farmers’ Club was held in the Rifle Club room on Tuesday evening. On behalf of the Hinds branch of the Farmers’ Union, Mr L. Chisnall congratulated the debating team, (.Misses E. Rhodes, L. Watson and E. Withell, on winning the inter-club debate. As a centennial effort, it was- decided to plant SO silver birch trees in Reid Street, Hinds, and 20 of different varieties in the Domain. It was announced that the debating team would debate with the Ashburton Catholic Club next Monday and would represent Ashburton district in the inter-district debate.
