EXPLANATION BY THE GERMANS (Received This Day, 11.0 a.m.) LONDON, June 12. Authoritative German circles admittedt hat a U-boat held up the United States liner Washington in the Atlantic. They explained that they had not been informed that the vessel!, was calling at Galway.
