ITALIAN NAMES.

EMPLOYEES OF CITY COUNCIL. (Per Press Association). WELLINGTON, June 12. There are in the employment of the Wellington City Council a. number of men with Italian names and some hold responsible positions. No precipitate action has been taken said the Mayor (Mr T. O. A. Hi slop). In any case, the council was not the body to take action, but it bad supplied through executive officers the names and positions of all such men to the police. Some had been in the service of the council for many years or were born here of parents with Italian names. The Mayor indicated that there was no intention of action, against such men. but issued a general warning that employees, whatever their nationality, taking up a disloyal attitude would find themselves out.
