PETROL RATIONS.

SCHEME IN AUSTRALIA. (Received This Day, 12.50 p.m.) MELBOURNE, This Day. The Minister of Supply (Mr Stewart) announced that the Federal Ministry had decided to introduce a petrol rationing scheme. The details are being worked out. Rationing will become effective . in about six weeks. The Government aims at 33 per cent, reduction in petrol consumption.
