Described as being still edible, a 50-year-old goose egg is an interesting exhibit at the Hawke’s Bay Museum. The egg, which was given by a Napier resident, bad been treated in the Chinese manner, being first wrapped in moist clay. With others the egg was packed in a shallow trench among husks .of grain or similar material and left until it was required.
