ANNUAL MEETING AT RAKAIA At the annual meeting of the R.akaia. branch) of the Returned Soldiers’ Association, there was a good attendance of members. The election of executive resulted: — Messrs F. J. Alexander, A. W. Allan, J. T. Barnes, J. S’. Bell, A. G. Bishop, D. Bjrown, F l . J. Oolgam, S. Gardiner, G. A. Haslett, T. G. Hardy, A. C. Mead, O. McKegney, T. V. Wilkinson; president, Mr F. J. Alexander; vicepresident, Mr T. G. Hardy; secretary, Mr A. W. Allan.
After a deputation from Christchurch and Ashburton had been heard in connection with the formation of a Mid-Canterbury association, it was de-ci-ded 1 that Rakaia [remain as at present a sub-branch affiliated with Christchurch.
