CASUALTIES IN FRANCE.

(Received This Day, 12.55 p.m.) LONDON, May 27

Very high casualties were suffered by the Germans in the last few days’ attacks as mentioned in the French official communiques of last night and this morning. Unofficial reports reaching Loudou to-day lend further emphasis to this aspect of the fighting in Northern France and Belgium. The losses inflicted on the enemy are described by the military spokesman at Faris as at times assuming the proportions of. a- massacre. He added -that the French were amazed-by the German persistance after the slaughter in which whole German units were wiped out by French guns.. ■ • .
