REFUGEE DOCTORS.
'AUCKLAND BOARD’S DISCUSSION. . \ (Per Press Association). AUCKLAND, May 27. An emphatic statement that he would not be a party to permitting any refugee doctors to be admitted to the Auckland Hospital as honoraries or otherwise was made by the chairman (Mr Allan J. Moody) at a meeting of the Hospital Board. "I will not allow any Prime Minister, Minister of the Crown, or departmental official to silence me,” be said. Mr J. Sayegh said be was 100 per cent behind Mr Moody’s statements, more particularly on account of fifthcolumn activities overseas. It was hard to say whether all refugees were genuine, and until they could lie verified, lie agreed with the chairman’s view.
“I believe in the open door to the genuine refugee,” Mr Moody added. “A real honest refugee should receive comfort and consideration in his hour of trial; but it is the men of whom wo are doubtful that should be watched. There is only one place to watch them, and I have indicated where that it.”
