CHIEFS OF MANY TOWNS.
INCOMPETENCE IN FRANCE. (Received This Day, 1.35 p.m.) PARIS', May 26. M. Mandel (Minister for Colonies) has dismissed for incoin' efence the police chiefs at Lille and Valenciennes, the police commissaries of five other towns and the Police Inspector at Douai. Charles Prevost, former editor of tlie “Gazette,” Ardennes, has been arrested.
