METHVEN TROTTING CLUB. JUNE MEETING ABANDONED. Following the decision of the Railway Department to run no more special trains, the Methyen Trotting Club has abandoned its claim to the Marlborough Trotting Club’s permit for a meeting in June. The Railway Department’s efforts to conserve their coal supply by cutting out all special trains means that facilities for the transport of horses to the track, and cheap fares for the public will not be available, making it impossible for the club to carry on.
