According to authoritative diplomatic circles, Britain asked Italy to define her exact position regarding the Avar, and reply before May 16. The British Embassy has no knowledge of the report. NO DEMAND FOR DEFINITION. OFFICIAL DENIAL IN LONDON. (Received This Day, 9.10 a.m.) , LONDON, May 7. It is officially denied that Britain asked for. a definition of Italy s attitude.
