SHIPPING LOSSES.
GERMAN; TOTAL OF 600,000 TONS. 15 PER CENT 4)F PRE-WAR FLEET. (Received This Day, 9.10. a.m.) LONDON, May 7. The Admiralty stated that the Germans have lost 300,000 tons of merchant shipping since April 1, and a total of 600,000 tons since the outbreak of the .war. This is 10 per cent, of Germany’s pre-war tonnage. Four British merchantmen, totalling 66,389' tons, one Allied ship of 1458 tons, and two neutrals totalling 298 tons were sunk by enemy action in the week ending Api*il 28. The British loss was one-third the weekly average since the outbreak of the war. PLEASURE LINER SUNK. GERMAN LOSS IN SKAGERRAK.
