LODGE MEETING.
ASHBURTON DRUIDS. Brother J. Chambers, A.D., presided at the fortnightly meeting of the Star of Ashburton Lodge, No. 14, U.A.O.D. last evening. Bvos. H. W. Hayward and D. McDougall, A.D. Bards reported on visits to sick members and sick pay was passed in favour of seventeen brothers. An appeal for a contribution toward the Fighting Services Welfare Fund was received and it was decided to grant the sum of £2 2s, although members had given personally. Brother Jves reported on the recent ritual competitions held at Timaru, the Muchmore Shield won by the Timaru Lodge with 61 points more than the Star of Ashburton team. The annual report and balance sheet of .the United Friendly Society Dispensary were received. The registration of a member’s Wife was granted and a member was admitted on transfer from the Trafalgar Lodge, Kaiapoi. At the close of the lodge a social evening was held music being supplied by Mr W. Rankin, several members of the Success of Ashburton Lodge attending. ’ ASHBURTON FORESTERS. ■ t The Court Ashburton A.O.F. met last evening, Bro, C. G. Dellow, jun., presiding. Sick pay was passed in favour of certain members. It was decided' to donate £1 Is to the Fighting Services Welfare Appeal. The balance-sheet of the U.F.S. dispensary was received. It was resolved that members on active service, should, during the dura-. ti'Oii of the war, receive all lodge benefits without cost to themselves. While use of petrol is restricted, it was decided to- abandon visits to other districts. At the conclusion of the business, members oF the Court Pride of Ashburton Juvenile Lodge were entertained at a social.
