OVER POLAND.
LONG FLIGHT BY R.A.F. LONDON, March 16. ". The Air Ministry announces: “During the last 24 hours air reconnaissance activities have included an extensive night flight over Polish territory by aircraft of the Bomber Command, 1 and an engagement between aircraft of the Coastal Command and an enemy bomber. During a running fight in which the enemy • was repeatedly attacked, damage was seen to bo inflicted on the bomber. The enemy aircraft finally escaped in the clouds. “Aircraft of tho Bomber Command of tho Royal Air Force carried out reconnaissances over Heligoland Bight this morning. Opposition was experienced from enemy fighters and anti-air-craft ground defences. Our defences ;compl<jted their tasks and returned safely.” A United Pres Association message from Berlin says that the German Air Force reconnoitred eastern France and the entire North Sea. Aircraft attacked British patrol-boats, Silking one and damaging another. There is no confirmation of this claim in London.—British Official Wireless. PACIFIC FLIGHT. HONOLULU, March 15. Six United States navy bombers landed at Canton: Island after a. mass flight from Johnston Island. They will return to Honolulu.
