EXPANSION IN AMERICA. \ ' • HUGE ALLIED PURCHASES. WASHINGTON, March 15. It is authoritatively stated that the Allied purchasing mission intends to spend more than 100,000,000 dollars in the United States on munitions and the expanding to a loan of 1,427,000 dollars to the Atlas PoAvder Company to enable the construction of a T-N-T plant. The French are negotiating for the construction ■'•of ‘ a 25,000,000-dollar powder factory. United States officials Avelcome this expansion because the United States’ munitions producing capacity has declined since tho war began.
