WOMEN’S DIVISION.

METHVEN BRANCH MEETING. } ■ & The monthly meeting of the Alethven branch of the Women's Division of the Farmers’ Union was held in the Agricultural and Pastoral Association s rooms, Mrs Alangin presiding over a good attendance. Mrs Holland reported on the meeting of the executive, and Aliss Carleton gave an instructive talk on her visit to the Centennial Exhibition. Ail interesting demonstration was given by Airs L. L. Aitkeu. The monthly competitions resulted as follows?— Best bloom, Airs Robinson 1 Airs Leaslc 2, Airs Jacobs 3. Collection of vegetables: Airs Rawlinson 1, Aliss Fleming 2, Mrs Jacobs 3. Heaviest apple: Airs Breach 1. Bowl or asters: Miss Fleming 1. The hostesses for the afternoon were Alesdames Pritchett, Richards, and McKay.
