MILK IN SCHOOLS.

FREE DISTRIBUTION SCHEMES.

MR FRASER CLAIMS SUCCESS. WANGANUI, March 14. “The distribution of free milk in schools has been a success,” stated the Deputy-Prime Minister (the Hon. P. Fraser) during a visit to W’anganui. “There is no intention on the part of the Government of replacing it with supplies of fruit.” Mr Fraser said the Government was doing all it could to extend the distribution of powdered and malt milk to schools in the backblocks, particularly native schools, and ho had every reason to bo satisfied with the results in those schools where this class of milk was being distributed, and where it would be impossible <to arrange for a daily supply of fresh milk.
