ANNETTE KELLERMAN CUP. BLAKELEY WINS IN RECORD TIME. - WELLINGTON, February 11. The Annette Kellcrman Cup harbour swim was held this afternoon. Oondiditions were good, but the water was cold. A largo crowd watched J. C. Blakeley (Wellington) win in a thrilling finish, with. P. Malthas (Wellington). Both kept together to within 30 yards of the finishing post, when Blakeley made a final. spwfc to gain a length on Malthus at Lhe finish. Blakeley who gained fastest ‘ times in this race at Lyttelton in 193-1 and at Dunedin in 1936, again established fastest time, recording 78min 15sce, which is regarded'as'the fastest time ever recorded in the race. There were 24 starters, 10 finishing.

The third man, C. Kidd (Otago) was about 40 yards away, three yards in front of P. Ryan (Hawera). The others were well back.
