The British steamer Oregon has arrived here in tow. She reports that she experienced boiler trouble off Capo Finisterre, and sent out an SOS. 'She drifted three days, when .a U-boat approached, hut did not fire,-presumably because it was short of ammunition, and left the Oregon to her fate. Next day a tug made (contact, hut the hawser snapped, the, second officer and two seamen being killed and another seriously injured.

The Oregon was previously reported torpedoed.
